About Lane Memorial

History: An organizational meeting to establish a general acute care hospital in the northern part of East Baton Rouge parish was held in February 1957, and four months later, Hospital Service District #1 was created. When Lane Memorial opened in November, 1960, we were a 40-bed acute care not-for-profit hospital. Lane has continued to grow over the years by expanding facilities, updating technology, and offering new services.

Service Area: Lane Memorial serves residents in the northern part of East Baton Rouge and the East and West Feliciana parishes.

Location: Lane Memorial Hospital is located in Zachary, Louisiana, approximately 10 miles North of Baton Rouge. Our facility is on the South side of Highway 64 between Plank Road and Highway 19.

Board of Commissioners: Lane Memorial Hospital is governed by a board of nine commissioners who are appointed by the Metropolitan Council of East Baton Rouge Parish. Terms of members are four years.
Chairman of the Board is Jerry Boudreaux.
Other members are: Robert Williams Jr, James Carroll, Patricia Gauthier, Ardell Guerra, William King, Judy Myles, John Richey MD, and Richard Sessoms.
